Troubleshooting

Try these steps before you ping support.

Installation and updates

Problem	Try
Installer blocked	Verify SHA-256 from Download; temporarily allow the file in antivirus
PowerShell script fails	Run PowerShell as user (not Roblox); use Invoke-Expression not blocked iex
Carbon will not update	Settings → Updates; or reinstall MSI/EXE (data in Carbon folder is usually kept)

Roblox will not launch

1. Launcher → Installation: confirm channel finished downloading; try Force reinstall once.
2. Engine settings: reset FastFlags JSON if you recently edited it.
3. Logs: open Launcher → Logs and check logs/ on disk for errors.
4. Disable all mods, launch again, then re-enable one at a time.

Mods do nothing

• Mods apply at launch, not while Roblox is already running. Restart the client.
• Confirm the mod is enabled and settings saved (config.json under mods/<id>/ or bin/configs/mods/<id>/).
• Two mods may conflict. Check priority in mod.yaml.
• Wrong asset paths fail silently. Compare with Preset operations.

Themes do not appear

• Folder must live in themes/<id>/ with valid theme.yaml.
• Restart Carbon after copying files.
• See Using themes.

Accounts / encryption

• Forgot encryption password → re-add Roblox accounts; encrypted vault cannot be recovered.
• Login loop → clear WebView cache (bin/cache/) only if you accept re-login for all accounts.

Multi-instance

• Enable Multi-instance in Launcher → Behavior.
• Use Instances to close zombie processes before relaunching.
