Using themes
Themes reskin Carbon (colors, glass, sidebar, optional animated backdrops). They do not patch Roblox. Use mods for in-game assets.
Pick a theme
Section titled “Pick a theme”- Settings → Appearance.
- Choose a built-in theme or a community pack from the list.
- Optional: open theme settings for per-theme options when the manifest defines them.
Selection persists across restarts. Built-in themes ship with the app; community themes live in themes/<theme-id>/ with a theme.yaml manifest.
Install a community theme
Section titled “Install a community theme”- Download or author a folder containing
theme.yamland the referenced stylesheet (often.scssor.css). - Copy the folder into
themes/(name = theme id). - Restart Carbon or refresh themes if the UI offers it, the new entry should appear under Appearance.
What you will notice
Section titled “What you will notice”| Theme type | Effect |
|---|---|
| Token pack | --crbn-* colors, surfaces, accents on the shell |
| Icons | Custom sidebar or UI SVG overrides |
| JS backdrop | Animated canvas/WebGL behind frosted panels (javascript.enabled in manifest) |
Windows Mica/acrylic backdrops come from configuration.backdrop unless a backdrop-layer JS theme takes over.
